Design Chair by Helmut Bätzner Bofinger, 1960s
Helmut Bätzner designed this iconic chair in 1966 for the German brand Bofinger, becoming a pioneer in the use of molded plastic for furniture. This yellow Bofinger chair is made entirely from a single piece of fiberglass-reinforced polyester — a revolutionary concept at the time. Its organic shape, fluid lines, and vibrant color make it a classic example of functional modernism with a pop art touch. The Bofinger chair was showcased at Documenta 4 in Kassel in 1968 and is part of collections including the MoMA.
The vivid yellow color enhances its sculptural presence, making it a bold statement piece suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
